In 1989 the Land Rover Discovery
was introduced, based on the chassis of the more upmarket Range Rover
but with a smaller price tag.
Winning design awards along the way the Discovery
was updated many times in it's 27 years of production, giving us the Discovery 2
in 1998, the Discovery 3
in 2004 and it's most recent in production version, the Discovery 4
The more compact Discovery Sport
went on sale during September 2014, with first deliveries in early 2015. The Sport
is actually a replacement for the Freelander
The Discovery 5 is due to forecourt in 2017, is rumoured to be under 2 tonnes, emphasising fuel economy whilst still maintaining it's off road capabilities.
